It seems like a lifetime ago that cookies were being made in mass quantities, bagged, and distributed.... alas, it was just last week!
Hard to believe.
The team was doing some significant brainstorming during the production process and it appears the next fundraiser will be a March Madness bracket tourney. The details are still being confirmed but keep your eyes peeled for that...

SNOWPOCALYPSE!!
Today and tomorrow are our big days for cookie distribution, but now that the panic and hysteria of Snowmageddon/Snowpocalypse/Alexander Snowvechkin has cancelled MP4 today, many of our generous cookie recipients won't be coming to campus today to receive their bounty.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow. Or Friday. Or home pickup.

And that's a wrap!
We are officially finished! The last cookies have been bagged, the cookie sheets have been cleaned and the mixer is unplugged. Hope you enjoy your cookies!
Let the countdown begin . . .
The last batch just went in the oven. In 11 minutes the baking will be over and all 1776 cookies will be DONE!

Things I am good at...
Counting to 24 (i.e. the number of cookies that go in a bag!).
Got back from Dave and Lara's a little bit ago ... and we were packing up cookies as fast as the oven would make them!
Those two certainly have it all down to a science - everything from the amount of cookies per batch, to the oven timing, to stacking cookies in the bags! I felt like an amateur.
Lara has also been taking pictures of the whole process - so get excited for her to post them!
For those of you that ordered cookies for friends and family ... they got shipped today!

Good Morning!Well, we're up bright and early in the Lind kitchen with a busy day ahead of us - both the Gala and the BC/Duke game. But first things first, we have to start the early baking for some of our early cookie deliveries. Our first delivery will be this afternoon and we are very excited.
Quick update on fundraising. We have surpassed the $900 mark, which means we are incredibly close to having this fundraiser be a $1000 event! Absolutely amazing.
Time to go preheat the oven!

Dwight wants some cookies too!
As we were preparing a batch of dough this afternoon for the first round of cookies (we need to prepare some cookies for a few early orders this weekend), Dwight decided he wanted to help Send A Kid to Camp too.
However, he only managed to get in the way. He did seem to like the flour though because he licked most of it up off the floor.

1008 cookies ... (and growing)
The honor of pushing us over the 1000 cookie barrier goes to one of our 2010 classmates, Lindsay!
Every little bit helps and we really thank everyone who has contributed - whether you bought 1 order or 5!

Will 20 lbs of flour be enough?
- 20 lbs of flours
- 20 lbs of white sugar
- 10 lbs of brown sugar
- 3 dozen eggs
- 8 lbs of butter
- 10 lbs of oatmeal
- 86 ounces of cornflakes
- 1 pint of vanilla
- plus baking powder and baking soda
Breaking barriers
So we just cracked a huge barrier. Got over the $700 hump for the cookie fundraiser, starting to think that $1,000 is possible. Still a stretch, but possible. I think if we get 2 or 3 more orders today, we'll get over the 1,000 cookie mark, which would be a significant baking endeavor. As I speak (type?) Lara is off at the grocery buying more flour and sugar, I'm sure we'll need it.
We have had some interest expressed from a celebrity donor. Chris and Katie Burke (the Camp Becket Executive Director and his wife) are looking to buy some cookies. It should also be noted that Katie will be in the Conte Forum on Saturday cheering on the Eagles over the Blue Devils.
Also, wanted to share a quick camp video with you. The sunsets there are amazing.

Wooo Woooo

We just broke the $600 mark - thanks to another generous donation from our classmates!
For those of you that are still thinking of ordering cookies, we are going to set a cut-off date of Monday at noon. So get your orders in :)
As of right now, SKTC will be pumping out 792 cookies ... or a whopping 66 dozen cookies.
Do you dare to see if we can make 1000 cookies? :)
Day Three
Still amazed by the generosity of the BC Community.
I had a great conversation with Chris Burke yesterday. Chris is the Executive Director of Camp Becket and he is so excited for this initiative and the prospect of having a campership sponsored.
Lara and I just started some serious shopping at home - I didn't think you could buy brown sugar in such big bags, but alas, when you're baking a thousand cookies, you need some serious ingredients. We're looking forward to baking, but aren't sure if our oven can handle it. It'll have to step up like the BC Community has.

Day 2... and its incredible
We are just 48 hours into this process and already have over $500 in donations.
We can't believe how generous the BC community is .... so incredible.
